Oswald, Fred Korth, and the Office of Naval Intelligence

Please note: The following essay was proof-read by researcher Bart Kamp prior to it being published on this blog.

It has long been believed that Lee Harvey Oswald was some sort of intelligence agent/asset of the United States Government. It has also long been believed that Oswald’s so-called defection to the Soviet Union in October, 1959, was part of a false defector program being run by the CIA and/or the ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence). In this brief essay, I will only focus on the evidence showing that Oswald was involved with the ONI following his return to the United States from the Soviet Union. As the reader is most likely aware, Oswald was involved with the Fair Play for Cuba Committee following his return to the United States. It is also well known that Oswald had the address 544 Camp Street (in New Orleans, Louisiana) stamped on his Fair Play for Cuba Committee leaflets. Located in the same building with this address were the offices of former FBI agent and right-wing extraordinaire, Guy Banister (see here).

As researchers such as Joan Mellen have discussed, Oswald was most likely working for Banister during his involvement with the FPCC (see here). What we should keep in mind is that Banister’s friend and ONI reserve officer, Guy Persac Johnson, had recommended Banister to the ONI; and that he (Banister) did in fact work for them (see here, here, here, and here). As a matter of fact, Banister’s offices were located across the street from the ONI in New Orleans (see here). During the much publicised trial of the right-wing New Orleans businessman, Clay Shaw, for the assassination of President Kennedy, one of Shaw’s first attorney’s was the aforementioned Guy Johnson. As the reader is probably aware, Oswald had been passing out FPCC leaflets in front of the International Trade Mart in New Orleans (which Clay Shaw was the managing director of) on August 16, 1963; and that following Oswald’s arrest on the day of the assassination, Shaw had contacted attorney Dean Andrews (using his alias Clay Bertrand) and asked him to represent Oswald (see here).

Another thing to keep in mind is that Oswald’s older half-brother, John Edward Pic, had worked with the ONI. As researcher Greg Parker explains in volume one of his ground-breaking book, Pic worked in the U. S. Coast Guards’ Port Security Unit which was charged with “ridding ports of subversive elements,” and that the PSU worked with the FBI and the ONI in this regard (see here). Taking this into account with what was discussed above; it seems very likely that Oswald was at least working for the ONI as an informant during his involvement with Guy Banister and the FPCC. The sixty four thousand dollar question is; who was responsible for Oswald’s involvement with the ONI, Banister, and the FPCC following his return from the Soviet Union? The one name that comes to mind is Fred Korth.

From January 4, 1962 until November 1, 1963, Korth served as SECNAV (Secretary of the U. S. Navy). As Greg Parker explains in volume one of his book, Korth had served as the divorce attorney of Oswald’s step father, Edwin Ekdahl, during his bitter divorce from Oswald’s mother in 1948 (see here). Therefore, Korth was acquainted with the Oswald family long before Oswald’s so-called defection to the Soviet Union. As SECNAV, Korth would surely have had little trouble in clearing Oswald to work for the ONI. According to an assassination investigator named Joe Cooper, Oswald’s mother Marguerite claimed that Korth had arranged for Oswald’s discharge from the U. S. Marines prior to his so-called defection to the Soviet Union; and that beyond that, Korth had “played a part” in Oswald’s life (see here).

As a matter of fact, it is my belief that Korth played a role in Oswald’s return from the Soviet Union. Let’s consider the following. When Oswald’s wife Marina testified before the Warren Commission, she claimed that one of the first individuals she and her husband became acquainted with following their arrival in the U. S. from the Soviet Union was Peter Paul Gregory (see here). When Gregory was interviewed by the FBI on May 13, 1964, his employment address was recorded as being the Continental National Bank Building in Fort Worth, Texas (see here). Fred Korth had served as President of the Continental National Bank in Fort Worth, Texas, prior to becoming SECNAV. Although I am not aware of any proof that Gregory was working inside the aforementioned building when Korth was President of the Continental National Bank, if he was, it’s entirely possible that he and Korth were acquainted; and that Korth may have recommended to Oswald that he contact Gregory for assistance. Regardless of what the reader may believe, I find it rather “coincidental” that one of the first individuals Oswald and his wife got in touch with upon their arrival in the U. S. worked in the Continental National Bank Building.

Several researchers such as myself have come to suspect that Fred Korth may been involved in the assassination due to the TFX (Tactical Fighter Experimental) aircraft scandal, in which Korth was suspected of favouring the award of the $6.5 billion TFX contract to General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas, instead of the Boeing company in Seattle, Washington (which was the preferred choice for the contract) due to his involvement with General Dynamics during his tenure as President of the Continental National Bank in Fort Worth, Texas (see here and here for example). Korth was forced to leave his position as SECNAV on November 1, 1963, due to the TFX scandal; and although President Kennedy had publicly claimed that as far as he was concerned, Korth had not acted improperly with regards to the TFX contract (see here), Korth nevertheless was probably concerned that he would face criminal charges for his role in securing the TFX contract for General Dynamics over Boeing.

Following President Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas, the investigations into the TFX scandal by the McClellan Committee had ceased until the year 1969; when Lyndon Johnson was no longer President. As several researchers have noted, Don Reynolds; a friend of Johnson’s protégé, Bobby Baker, claimed that Johnson had received a $100,000 payoff for his role in securing the TFX contract for General Dynamics in Fort Worth (see here). Although I don’t believe that Johnson was the so-called mastermind behind the assassination, I nevertheless believe that he at least had foreknowledge of the assassination plot; and that his role in the TFX scandal was a motive for his involvement in said plot. Johnson was not only close friends with Fred Korth, but he was also friends with Louise Raggio; the divorce attorney of the notorious Ruth Paine during her sham divorce from Michael Paine (see here under the subheading “Oswald and the 112th Military Intelligence Group”). In my opinion, this is not a connection which any serious researcher of the assassination should overlook.

Returning now to Fred Korth’s likely involvement in the assassination conspiracy, the day on which Korth left his position as SECNAV (November 1, 1963) is interesting for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it is the day on which someone claiming to be Oswald filled out an application form to rent a post office box inside the Terminal Annex Building located opposite the TSBD building. As I discuss in my essay “Who was behind the assassination – Part 2?” this was likely done as part of framing Oswald for the assassination (see here under the subheading “Charles W. Webster, John Jacob Abt, and Dr. Robert John Morris”). What’s particularly interesting to me is that according to former ONI agent, Robert David Steel, the ONI had its Dallas offices located inside that very same building! (see here). November 1, 1963, is also approximately the day on which the mysterious and suspicious Larry Crafard claimed that he went to work for Jack Ruby at the Carousel club (see here).

As I discuss in my essay “Did Larry Crafard kill J.D. Tippit?” Crafard’s alibi for the time President Kennedy was assassinated doesn’t hold up; and that Crafard was likely the culprit who gunned down Dallas Police officer, J. D. Tippit. November 1, 1963 is also the day on which Herbert Leon Lee; a floor layer and U. S. Navy veteran, claimed he moved out of the rooming house at 1026 North Beckley Avenue in Dallas, Texas, where Oswald was allegedly living at the time of the assassination. As I discuss in the "Larry Crafard, Lawrence Howard, Herbert Leon Lee etc." thread at the ROKC forum, Lee and his friend, James Douglas Watson, may have been involved with Jack Ruby and Larry Crafard in illegal gun running activities which may have been related to the assassination (see here). As Greg Parker more or less suggests in the “Herbert Leon Lee” thread at the ROKC forum, Lee may have been on the sixth floor of the TSBD building at the time of the assassination (see here).

According to Lee’s obituary, he had been a floor layer for over 30 years before becoming a police officer in the Jefferson Texas Police Department (his obituary contains a photograph showing him wearing what appears to be a Police uniform). As Greg Parker once remarked, it seems somewhat odd that Lee became a police officer after laying floors for over 30 years. However, if Lee had worked for the ONI during his time in the U. S. Navy, this could certainly explain why he went on to become a police officer. It is my belief that Lee did work for the ONI; and that he may in fact have been involved in the assassination. It is also my belief that Larry Crafard moved into the rooming house at 1026 North Beckley Avenue after Lee left to take his place there with regards to illegal gun running activities.

There is yet another interesting “coincidence” which may be significant. On or about October 31, 1963, someone apparently claiming to be Oswald applied for a job as a bellman at the Statler Hilton Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Jack Ruby seems to have been a regular visitor to the hotel (see here). One of the board of directors of the Hilton Hotels Corporation (which included the Statler Hilton Hotel in Dallas) was Henry Crown (see here). In 1959, Crown become the largest shareholder of the General Dynamics Corporation; and merged his Material Service Corporation with General Dynamics that same year (see here). Crown was also allegedly acquainted with Jack Ruby (see here) It obviously would have been in Crown’s interest that the General Dynamics Corporation be awarded the contract for the TFX. Although all of this may be just a coincidence, it is my belief that Crafard was the Oswald look-alike who had applied for a job at the Statler Hilton Hotel near the end of October, 1963; and that the possible purpose of this was for Crafard to attend meetings at the hotel concerning final preparations for the assassination, without arousing the suspicion of Hotel staff. Of course, I can’t prove any of this.

Returning now again to Fred Korth, if Korth was the one calling the shots concerning the plot to assassinate the President, then perhaps the final decision to assassinate the President (with Oswald as the designated patsy) was made right around November 1, 1963, when Korth left his position as SECNAV over the TFX scandal. Regardless of what role Korth may actually have played in the assassination, I think it is important that we keep in mind the interesting “coincidences” discussed above. We should also keep in mind Korth’s connection to the Oswald family; and the likelihood that he was responsible for Oswald’s involvement with the ONI and the FPCC following Oswald’s return from the Soviet Union. It is also worth noting that as SECNAV, Korth could have reversed the undesirable discharge given to Oswald by the U. S. Marine Corps reserve following his (Oswald’s) so-called defection to the Soviet Union; and that Korth could have used this as leverage against Oswald (as can be seen here, Korth was aware of Oswald’s undesirable discharge).

Of course, there is also the question of whom or what Oswald’s inspiration was in wanting to work for the ONI. The answer to that question may lie with one of the most prolific writers of the 20th century; namely, Ernest Hemingway. Oswald had written about Hemingway, and even compared himself to him in his letter to John Connally protesting his undesirable discharge (see here and here). And as Greg Parker writes at the education forum, Oswald wanted to be Ernest Hemingway (see here). Hemingway had worked for the ONI, and was involved in “identifying” Nazi spies and “discovering” communists (see here and here). As discussed above, Oswald was most likely working for the ONI during his involvement with the FPCC; which almost certainly would have included collecting the names of so-called communists involved with or showing an interest in the FPCC. As the reader may be aware, following the assassination, it was discovered that Oswald had the name and address of George Lincoln Rockwell (the founder of the American Nazi Party) inside his notebook (see here). Oswald may have been spying on Rockwell and the ANP as part of his involvement with the ONI.

Before concluding this essay, there are several other individuals of interest whom I would like to discuss. Let’s begin with former FBI agent, I. B. Hale. Hale was evidently a close associate of FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover, and was the chief of security at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas (see here and here). Hale’s wife (Virginia Hale) worked at the Texas Employment Commission in Fort Worth; and had helped Oswald obtain his job at the Leslie Welding Company in Fort Worth following his return from the Soviet Union (see here). I believe it is quite likely that Fred Korth had put Oswald in touch with Virginia Hale through her husband. In August, 1962, I. B. Hale’s twin sons (Robert Allen and William Hale) burglarised the apartment of JFK’s so-called mistress, Judith Campbell Exner (see here, here, and here).

It has been suggested that the burglary had something to do with blackmailing President Kennedy into giving the TFX aircraft contract to General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. Considering that two of Hale’s sons were involved in the burglary, I believe this could very well be the case. Robert Allen Hale was married to John Connally’s daughter, Kathleen; who supposedly committed suicide by shooting herself behind her right ear with a 20-gauge shotgun in April, 1959. What’s interesting (as other researchers have pointed out) is that Fred Korth’s daughter, Verita, also allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself in the mouth with a 20-gauge shotgun in the year 1969.

Although I will never be able to prove it, I not only believe that Robert Allen Hale killed Kathleen Connally, but that he was also likely involved in the death of Verita Korth; and that her death had something to do with the TFX scandal and/or the assassination (keep in mind that Verita Korth’s death occurred the same year the investigation into the TFX scandal was reopened). My recommendation to the reader is that he/she read about what sort of a person Robert Allen Hale was, and judge for themselves whether he was capable or not of killing his wife and Korth’s daughter (see here for example). I not only believe he was more than capable of committing these crimes, but that he may also have been used as a sniper/lookout for the assassination of the President.

Let’s now take a look at a couple of other individuals of interest who were associated with the General Dynamics Corporation. First there is Maurice “Tex” Moore. Moore was an attorney and brother-in-law of Henry Luce (of Time-Life fame) who served as a director of the General Dynamics Corporation from 1962 to 1972 (see here). Let’s consider that an attorney/clerk/secretary named Maurice Moore was listed in the Appendix of the Warren Commission report as one of many lawyers who were helpful to the Commission (see here). This is almost certainly Maurice “Tex” Moore; as “Tex” Moore was said to be a friend of Warren Commission member, John J. McCloy (see here). Of interest to me is determining whether Maurice “Tex” Moore was related to Dallas CIA agent, J. Walton Moore; who was one of the men Oswald’s so-called best friend, George DeMohrenschildt, consulted with to see if it was “safe” for him (DeMohrenschildt) to “assist” Oswald following his return from the Soviet Union (see here).

Another person DeMohrenschildt said he consulted in this regard was attorney Max Clark, who was employed by Convair (a division of the General Dynamics Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas) as a “Supervisor of Industrial security and Investigation…” (see here). There is yet another individual with connections to both DeMohrenschildt and the General Dynamics Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas, who is of interest; namely, Jack Alston Crichton. Crichton was an oil and natural gas industrialist from Dallas, Texas, who had connections to U. S. Army intelligence and the DPD. Crichton joined the Empire Trust company in 1953, and evidently served as the company’s Vice President until 1962 (see here). Of note is that the Empire Trust Company was an investor in the General Dynamics Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas (see here). It’s possible that Crichton was a shareholder of the Corporation up until the time of the assassination and beyond. I discuss Crichton’s possible involvement in the assassination in my essay “Who was behind the assassination?” (see here). I recommend that the reader spare some time to read through it.

Let’s now take a look at Admiral Henry Chester Bruton. Bruton was a rear admiral in the U. S. Navy who became director of Naval Communications during the 1950s, and who knew George DeMohrenschildt. In fact, DeMohrenschildt had introduced Oswald to Bruton following Oswald’s return from the Soviet Union (see here). Subsequent to his retirement from the Navy in 1960, Bruton evidently became Vice President of the Collins Radio Company (see here and here). The reader may be familiar with the allegation that individuals with connections to the Collins Radio Company may have been involved in the assassination and the murder of Dallas Police officer, J. D. Tippit. For example, an Oswald lookalike was seen driving the car identified as being that of Collins Radio employee, Carl Amos Mather, near the Texas Theater where Oswald was arrested on the day of the assassination (see here). Mather and his wife were acquainted with J. D. Tippit and his wife.

Although Bruton was retired from the Navy before Fred Korth became SECNAV, he and Korth may have crossed paths before the assassination. Aside from their association with the U. S. Navy, let’s keep in mind that both Korth and Bruton had graduated from George Washington University Law School (see here and here). Another thing to keep in mind is that the Collins Radio Company had connections to the General Dynamics Corporation. In late August, 1963, Collins Radio received a subcontract from General Dynamics to install “high-fidelity” radio equipment for the TFX fighter jets (see here). As Bill Kelly mentions at the education forum; “The August 1963 Collins/General Dynamics subcontract might be significant in regards to the Rex because of the Gen. Dynamics CIA contract to develop ‘a highly [manoeuvrable] high-speed boat designed for use by guerilla raiders’.” The Rex was a CIA “raider ship” which was leased to the Collins Radio company ostensibly for “electronic and oceanographic research,” and which was used to “deposit” anti-Castro Cuban commandos in Cuba in late October, 1963 (see here).

As I discuss in parts one and two of my essay “Who was behind the assassination?” there is very good reason to believe that individuals involved in the plot to assassinate President Kennedy wanted to give the impression that Cuban communists were behind the assassination; with the hope that the U. S. military would invade Cuba and overthrow the Castro regime out of retaliation. There is one other individual with connections to the General Dynamics Corporation I would like to discuss in this essay. Mason Lankford Jr. was a special agent of the ONI in Dallas, Texas; who served as director of security at the General Dynamics Convair division from 1948 to 1972. We should bear in mind that Oswald’s older brother, Robert, was employed at the Convair division in 1956. Lankford was also acquainted with Dallas Police officer, Roscoe White, and was involved in “guarding” the Oswald family following the assassination (see here).

In closing, let me state that there is little doubt in my mind that Oswald was working for the ONI following his return from the Soviet Union; and that Fred Korth had played a role in this. Naturally, the ONI has denied that Oswald worked for them as an agent or informant (see here). However, does any rational person actually believe that the ONI, CIA, FBI etc. would publicly admit that Oswald ever worked for them as an agent or informant? Think about the shame and embarrassment such an admission would bring to those organisations. These organisations would also surely have been concerned that the public would come to suspect them as possibly being involved in some sort of a conspiracy with Oswald to assassinate the President. In my opinion, it is absolutely ridiculous to expect that any one of these organisations would acknowledge that Oswald had worked for them as an agent or informant.

Addendum #1 (posted 26/8/2016)

To add to the so-called coincidences concerning Fred Korth, Larry Crafard, the General Dynamics corporation etc., William Crowe (a.k.a Bill DeMar); who was a master of ceremonies at the Carousel Club, informed the Warren Commission that he arrived back at the Carousel Club around November 1, 1963 (see here).  As I have discussed elsewhere, I believe DeMar (who was involved with hypnosis) possibly hypnotised Jack Ruby to shoot Oswald at the basement of the DPD. Contrary to what I have advocated in the past, I believe DeMar “programed” Ruby to shoot Oswald as soon as he (Ruby) saw Oswald being escorted by Dallas Police officers inside the basement. Let’s now consider the following. On November 24, 1963, Bill DeMar contacted a friend of his named David Edwin Hoy, and provided him with information about Jack Ruby (see here and here).

What’s interesting is that a Patrick H. Hoy was a senior Vice President of the General Dynamics Corporation (see here, here and here). Although I can’t prove that Patrick Hoy and David Edwin Hoy were blood related, I nevertheless believe they were. I also believe that Bill DeMar was acquainted with both of them. Even if it can never be proven that the two Hoys were blood related; I nevertheless believe that it wasn’t a coincidence that DeMar arrived back at the Carousel club around November 1, 1963.

Addendum #2 (posted 28/8/2016)

At the time of the assassination, Marguerite Oswald was living at a duplex apartment in Fort Worth, Texas, allegedly owned by a Mary Ann/Anne/E. McCarthy. McCarthy is said to have been a close friend of Fred Korth (see here and here).  Given Korth’s connection to the Oswald family, it wouldn’t surprise me if these allegations are in fact true. McCarthy allegedly bought the duplex apartment in February, 1963 (see here). On April 13, 1965, the FBI interviewed a man named Joe McCarthy who informed them that he had rented the aforementioned apartment to Marguerite Oswald “about two or three years ago” (see here). According to available public records, a Mary Anne McCarthy; who had been living in Fort Worth, Texas, and whose aliases included the name “Mary Ellen McCarthy,” was related to a Joseph McCarthy (see here). It seems apparent to me that this is the same Mary Anne McCarthy who owned the duplex apartment in Fort Worth, Texas.

Addendum #3 (posted 31/8/2016)

Another person of interest who was likely involved with the ONI is the mysterious and suspicious, Igor “Turk” Vaganov. Vaganov has long been suspected of being the culprit who gunned down Dallas Police officer, J. D. Tippit. Researcher Lee Farley once postulated that Vaganov may have been one of the two men supposedly from IBM who were inside Johnny Calvin Brewer’s shoe store when Brewer allegedly observed Oswald acting suspiciously; as a friend of Vaganov’s informed researcher Mark Bridger that Vaganov identified himself as an “international trouble-shooter for IBM” (see here and here). Lee Farley also argued that Vaganov may have been an Oswald look-alike seen at the Sports drome rifle range in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas before the assassination using the name John Nicholson; which was one of Vaganov’s many aliases (see here).

Vaganov’s mother, Mrs. Anton Gedvilo Broomal, informed the FBI that Vaganov had served in the U. S. Navy for three years, and received an honorable discharge in November, 1961 (see here). However, according to researcher Mark Bridger, Vaganov joined the U. S. Navy in January, 1959, and was discharged in July, 1963 (see here). Bridger also claims that in 1960 (whilst on leave from the Navy), Vaganov opened a savings account at the Republic National Bank in Dallas, Texas. The reader should keep in mind that (as researcher Greg Parker pointed out) the Republic National Bank was identified as being a conduit of CIA funds since the year 1958. It is also worth keeping in mind that Oswald’s so-called best friend, George DeMohrenschildt, occupied two rooms inside the Republic National Bank Building from September, 1954, to May, 1959 (see here).

As Mark Bridger explains, beginning September, 1963, Vaganov had been requesting to be transferred from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Dallas, Texas, by his employer (the General Electric Company), and that by October, 1963, these requests were “becoming more frequent.” According to Bridger, Vaganov made his final (futile) request for a transfer on November 5, 1963, after which he left his job and travelled to Dallas, Texas (see here). However, Vaganov’s mother more or less told the FBI that Vaganov left Philadelphia on November 2, 1963. Regardless of who is correct, it seems rather significant to me that Vaganov left for Dallas shortly after November 1, 1963 (see above for the significance of this date). In fact, it is my belief that Vaganov was at least involved in the Tippit murder; and that he was one of the so-called IBM men inside Johnny Calvin Brewer’s shoe store. Given his apparent penchant for radios (as discussed by Mark Bridger), I also can’t help but think that Vaganov had some involvement with the Collins Radio Company.

Addendum #4 (posted 3/9/2016)

At the ROKC forum, I previously discussed the allegation that an Oswald lookalike was seen inside Morgan’s gun shop at Fort Worth, Texas, around November 2, 1963 (see here). On December 4, 1963, a W. M. Farrar informed the FBI that on November 2 or November 9, 1963, he observed a man whom he described as being “the general size and appearance as Oswald” inside Bailey’s gun shop in Wichita Falls, Texas; who inquired about an Italian 6.5 X 54 rifle (see here). Farrar also described the man in question as being in his 20’s, about 5’ 11 1/2” tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with “straight semi-cropped hair and in shirt sleeves with no hat…” When the FBI interviewed Wayne Bailey (who was evidently the owner of the gun shop) on December 5, 1963, he more or less claimed that the man Farrar recalled may actually have been a 15 year old boy (see here).

Bailey also advised the FBI that Oswald had never been inside his shop. Considering the fact that Oswald was accused of assassinating the President of the United States, it is perfectly understandable that Bailey would deny that Oswald (or an Oswald lookalike) was inside his shop before the assassination; because of the almost certain shame and embarrassment such an admission would bring to him. My advice to the reader is that he/she read through the interviews of Farrar and Bailey; and decide for themselves what to make of this alleged sighting of an Oswald lookalike. In light of the aforementioned “coincidences” concerning November 1, 1963, I personally believe Farrar’s claim may have merit.

Addendum #5 (posted 11/9/2016)

The reader may be familiar with the alleged plot to assassinate President Kennedy in Chicago, Illinois, on November 2, 1963. For those who are not, this can be read here. As researchers such as Edwin Black have noted, there are several similarities between the alleged patsy for the Chicago plot (Thomas Auther/Arthur Vallee) and Oswald. For example, both of them served in the U. S. Marine Corps. (see here). It also appears that like Oswald, Vallee served in the ONI; as researcher Mark Bridger points out (see here). In addition to Vallee’s connection to the ONI, let’s keep in mind the aforementioned “coincidences” concerning November 1, 1963; and the fact that President Kennedy’s motorcade was scheduled to pass through Chicago on November 2, 1963! Although it may all be just a strange coincidence, let’s just say I have my doubts about that being the case.

Addendum #6 (posted 18/9/2016)

As discussed previously in this essay, there is good reason to believe that not only had Fred Korth arranged for Oswald’s discharge from the U. S. Marines; but that he was also involved in Oswald’s return to the United States from the Soviet Union. One thing I had previously overlooked is the likelihood that Korth was also involved in Oswald’s employment at Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall in Dallas, Texas. Let’s consider the following. When Robert L. Stovall (the President of Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall) testified before the Warren Commission, he claimed (in so many words) that in order for the firm to do classified/confidential work for any “federal agency,” it must be “cleared through” by the “Navy Bureau Material” (see here). Stovall also told the Commission that he had served in the U. S. Navy. According to the late researcher John Judge, approval by the ONI was necessary in order to obtain employment at Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall (see here). In light of what Robert Stovall told the Warren Commission, this makes perfect sense to me.

Addendum #7 (posted 24/9/2016)

The reader may be familiar with the fact that Gordon Barton McLendon was a founder and owner of radio station KLIF in Dallas, Texas. However, the reader may not be familiar with the fact that McLendon had served in the ONI; and was acquainted with Jack Ruby (see here and here). Although McLendon admitted to the FBI that he was acquainted with Ruby, he claimed that he never socialised with him (see here). McLendon appears to have been on cosy terms with the DPD; for when KLIF radio announcer, Russell Lee Moore, testified before the Warren Commission, he claimed that following the assassination, McLendon “came to the defense of the Dallas Police Department” (see here).

When Dallas Police Sgt. Gerald Hill (whom I wholeheartedly believe was involved in framing Oswald for the Tippit murder) testified before the Warren Commission, he claimed that he had worked as a radio-television editor for the “Dallas Times Herald” (see here). This leaves open the possibility that he was acquainted with McLendon before the assassination. McLendon was also apparently involved in providing funds for the anti-Castro INTERPEN (Intercontinental penetration force) group which Lawrence Howard was a member of (see here). As I discuss in my essay “Did Larry Crafard kill J.D. Tippit?” there is good reason to believe that Howard was the man driving the Nash Rambler station wagon along Elm Street shortly following the assassination; which was seen by Dallas deputy Sheriff, Roger Craig, and others. On a final note, considering McLendon’s deep involvement with the radio industry, it is entirely likely that he had some (undisclosed) association with the Collins Radio Company.

Addendum #8 (posted October 27, 2016)

On November 24, 1963, a Ted Marsico was interviewed by the FBI. According to Marsico, on either October 31 or November 1, 1963, a Louis L. Springfield informed him (amongst other things) that if President Kennedy visited Dallas, he would be shot (see here). Some of the claims which Springfield made to Marsico were corroborated by his (Marsico’s) employee, Delbert Lee Martin (see here). Aside from the fact that Springfield relayed this information to Marsico on either October 31 or November 1, 1963, the reader should note that Springfield was a gunnery Sergeant in “Headquarters Maintenance Squadron” in the U. S. Marine Corps reserve based at the Naval Air Station in Dallas, Texas. Springfield told the FBI that his primary duty was that of Intelligence chief with the Air Reserve Squadron (see here). Bear in mind that Fred Korth was SECNAV up until November 1, 1963, when he left office due to the TFX fighter jet scandal. Although all of this may be just a coincidence, Springfield’s claims are nevertheless something we should keep in mind.
